Test-Shoots works on the understanding that photography can go beyond serving as a valuable asset, towards fulfilling a genuine social and cultural good. This is possible when purpose-driven individuals and organisations leverage the humanistic, documentary and aesthetic qualities inherent in the photograph to give greater meaning, value and visibility to their work.
While we accept the necessity, under our existing economic system, of operating a cash-driven business model, we also recognise that this very system and model create barriers of access which are financial in nature and which restrict public access to photography as a common good. Thus, for those individuals and organisations who face such barriers, we will negotiate a subsidised rate in order to work within their means.* Please reach out to us via the Contact section of our website, being as transparent as possible about the limitations you face, and as specific as possible about the photography you require.
*Please note this depends significantly on our Partners’ availability and our organisation’s own financial position.
As a non-profit, all of Test-Shoots’s surplus revenue is invested in the furthering of our above-stated mission. As we are a small organisation with limited means, we also appeal to the charity of donors, sponsors and funders. If you would be willing to make a donation of any amount to Test-Shoots, you will be able to do so in the Donate section of our website.
